🕊️ INTRO

Shalom, and grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome to The Notes I Leave podcast.

The Hebrew word “shalom” signifies more than mere peace; it signifies wholeness, completeness, well-being, harmony with God and others. All of which, I wish for you.

The purpose of this podcast is to share the diverse experiences I encounter as a professor, teacher, entrepreneur, student, father, son, brother, and follower of Christ Jesus. These notes are intended for you, now and in the future.

📖 MAIN MESSAGE

📜 This week’s theme:

In this episode, I discuss the most important message of all, the Gospel.

📜 Anchor verse(s):

21 But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26 for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 27 Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one. 31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

Romans 3:21-31, New American Standard Bible, 1995

The Lord has placed on my heart the good new Jesus Christ brings to us. Let us not dwell in negativity. Truly nothing is bad news when we have received salvation from the King of Kings!

🙏 TRANSITION TO MEMBERS

That is the heart of what the Lord laid on me this week—but for those of you walking this journey further with me, there is a deeper side I want to share; in the members-only section, I’ll be opening up about how this career change challenged me as a father and a disciple.

But first, I would like to leave you with a quote and question.

📚 Quote:

“One of my early questions, I said to them, I said, what is the Bible? And one of the guys said, it's just a book of rules. And I'm thinking, no, it's the greatest love story that's ever been written.”

—Jeff Foxworthy

☕️ Question:

How do we view God’s word?

🕯️ PRAYER AND BLESSING

Father, thank You for guiding us—even when the path is not clear to us. Teach us to walk in humility, trust, and obedience.

Until next time, may the peace of Christ dwell richly in you and may I express ‘maranatha,’ which is an Aramaic word translating to “Come, Lord Jesus.”

-:

Shalom, Grace and Peace.

-:

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

-:

My name is Daniel Miller, and this is the Notes I Leave Podcast.

-:

Well, I hope that you are well, and I sincerely thank you for

-:

joining me for today's episode titled the Gospel.

-:

It is titled the Gospel in honor of one of my dear friends that

-:

I meet with on a weekly basis for fellowship, and we often do

-:

so early in the morning before the sun rises.

-:

I value his friendship dearly.

-:

And where he is at behind this message is that he is continually

-:

emphasizing that we must share the message of the Gospel in everything

-:

that we do, whether it's from a pulpit, from a laboratory setting,

-:

or between two people over a cup of coffee, it doesn't matter.

-:

And what I'm going to share with you today is a lot of bad news.

-:

And I think that most of us understand bad news, but we may not

-:

understand the bad news news and why it's so critical.

-:

And a lot of people share good news or the good news, but if we

-:

don't understand the bad news, we won't understand the good news

-:

or at least where it applies in our life.

-:

And even in saying those words and knowing in my brain what I'm

-:

about to share with you, I feel so hypocritical because what I'm

-:

going to vulnerably share with you today and in more depth, the

-:

second segment, but what I'm going to share with you is how my

-:

life was a lot of bad news and it just wore me down and continues

-:

to wear me down when I find myself surrounded with people who

-:

are very negative, who are pessimistic.

-:

And so I do not want this episode to be that for anyone.

-:

And so I want to keep that on my heart as well so that I cast

-:

the good news as much to the forefront is possible.

-:

In fact, let me lead with this in the beginning of this episode

-:

to sort of encapsulate this as best as possible before I start

-:

sharing portions of my testimony.

-:

The bad news and the bad news that matters is this.

-:

We are all sinners.

-:

And one single sin separates us from the deity of God.

-:

It separates us from his perfect nature.

-:

Okay, if we are to follow the law that the Old Testament lays

-:

out for us, in order to achieve what we need to in that law, we

-:

must be perfect.

-:

Now, to be clear, only one perfect person ever walked the planet,

-:

and that was Jesus Christ when he took on human form, which makes

-:

his sacrifice for us so perfect.

-:

You see, in the Old Testament, sacrifice of an animal was a very common thing.

-:

And in that common nature place, we as humans would sin, whether

-:

intentionally or unintentionally, by our nature, and we would

-:

prepare a sacrifice to the Lord to atone for that sin. We.

-:

Well, Jesus Christ is the perfect human being that ever existed,

-:

was the only one who could atone for that price of sin.

-:

And unlike an animal that atoned for that price in sort of a figurative

-:

way, in that moment in time, Jesus Christ and his death on the

-:

cross pays for sin of all time, past, present and future.

-:

In fact, what a lot of us as Christians don't realize is that

-:

Jesus Christ didn't pay for our sins up until the point we become Christians.

-:

He paid for the sins that we make on a daily basis, and he paid

-:

for the sins that we'll make in the future as well.

-:

Now, through our faith in his grace, we strive to become better

-:

individuals, and we strive to not sin as much.

-:

Otherwise, we would just say a prayer and then we would go on

-:

sinning and we'd be perfectly fine.

-:

And that's where the criticisms from once saved, always saved come from.

-:

But if you're truly saved, if you've given your life to Christ,

-:

you have a repentant heart.

-:

Your heart is being changed actively by the Holy Spirit indwelling

-:

within you, and you want to sin less and less.

-:

You'll find yourself not wanting to listen to the same music that

-:

you used to listen to.

-:

You'll find yourself not wanting to watch the movies that you

-:

used to listen to.

-:

You'll find yourself not wanting to hang around the same people

-:

that have a bad influence on you the way that you used to.

-:

And that leads us into the good news.

-:

Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we can not be separated

-:

from him, which is what we deserve.

-:

Again, due to the consequences of one single sin.

-:

And we're all responsible for a lot more than that.

-:

We have elected to continue sinning in our nature, and we deserve

-:

death and eternity in hell.

-:

Again, that's the bad news, right?

-:

But Jesus Christ didn't want that for us.

-:

So he came here, was persecuted by his own people, hung on the

-:

cross by his own people through the Roman Empire, and He was paying

-:

for every sin that every one of us could ever commit, which only

-:

makes sense if he lived a perfect life.

-:

And he did.

-:

Now, the Gospel continues as we magnify Jesus perfect life, his

-:

death, and his resurrection.

-:

Because we could argue that others have lived really good lives.

-:

We couldn't argue that anyone's lived a perfect life.

-:

But we could argue that people have lived pretty good lives.

-:

And we could verify that a lot of people have died and verify

-:

that a lot of people have died under persecution in which they

-:

shouldn't have died.

-:

But we couldn't verify, unlike how we can with historical evidence

-:

to verify, that Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

-:

So he defeated death in that instance.

-:

And that's the whole basis of the Christian faith.

-:

The Jewish people persecuted Jesus and they were proven wrong

-:

when he rose from the dead.

-:

He was trying to show them that they were being proven wrong in

-:

his midst continually, but it wasn't to be.

-:

But he proved them wrong by rising from the dead.

-:

In fact, you see that with the events that take place after his

-:

death on the cross, where the Roman soldier says, truly this,

-:

this was the Son of God.

-:

And that's likely a completely unreligious relational person at

-:

that point in time who was convinced in that moment in time that

-:

what have we just done?

-:

And so our bad news becomes good news when we recognize that Jesus's

-:

perfect life, his death, that was not just, and his resurrection,

-:

that showed that he defeated death.

-:

And so our peace is through him and by someone who gives their

-:

life to him, we are indebted to him.

-:

Now because we live on faith, we don't have to continually pay that debt.

-:

That debt's already been paid.

-:

We couldn't have paid it anyways.

-:

But a lot of times we will feel naturally so that we need to contribute

-:

more to justify the payment that's been paid on our behalf.

-:

And that is a really hairy gray area where you get caught up in

-:

works versus faith.

-:

Some religions will teach that you have to continually provide

-:

good works and that will give you a better seat in heaven, which

-:

is completely unbiblical.

-:

And then relationship, not religion, relationship with Christ

-:

is like, is a terrible example, but like a relationship with just

-:

a really, really good friend where you don't want to let them down.

-:

If they recommend somebody to you, you want to hold up their name

-:

and you want to continue doing a good job because they recommended

-:

someone to you.

-:

You want to continually arrive at the table prepared to be a quality

-:

friend each and time you, you meet, they tell you to read a book,

-:

you want to read that book, you want to continually instill trust

-:

in them, that you are reciprocating your end of the friendship.

-:

And Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior is so much more than that.

-:

And so some people will see Christians who do good works, and

-:

they will say, oh, that must be part of that religion that associates

-:

works with what seat that they get in heaven.

-:

But when you have true faith.

-:

You can't help but want to do good works because so much has been

-:

given to you that you can't help but want to give back.

-:

You'll never be able to give back to equal what has been given to you.

-:

But in your new heart, as the Holy Spirit dwells within you, you

-:

only want to give back.

-:

And we're not perfect people.

-:

No, no person is apart from Jesus Christ's time on earth.

-:

And we sin, of course, but that debt was paid for.

-:

Even our future sin, the debt was paid for.

-:

But with a new repentant heart, you recognize the sin, you mourn

-:

for the sin, and you continually strive to operate in a better capacity.

-:

I'm going to read, I am going to share some of my past and that

-:

may end up being exclusively in the second half of this episode,

-:

depending on time.

-:

And that's completely okay.

-:

But before we get to that, I want to make sure that I'm sharing

-:

a set of verses out of Romans chapter three with you.

-:

Now, when I share a set of verses with you, I'm sharing them almost

-:

always out of the New American Standard Bible.

-:

I also have my hard copy Amplified Bible.

-:

I'm going to share it here as well to give you what I like about

-:

the Amplified Bible and hopefully things click more and they make more sense.

-:

But Paul is talking to the Romans in his letter to the Romans,

-:

and this essentially wraps up what the Gospel all is, what the

-:

bad news, good news, and what that means for us in terms of salvation.

-:

So in verse 21 it reads, but now apart from the law, the righteousness

-:

of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the

-:

prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus

-:

Christ for all those who believe, for there is no distinction,

-:

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being

-:

justified as a gift by his grace through the redemption which

-:

is in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation

-:

in his blood through faith.

-:

This was to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance

-:

God he passed over the sins previously committed.

-:

For this demonstration I say of his righteousness at the present

-:

time, so that he would be just as the justifier of the one who

-:

has faith in Jesus.

-:

Where then is boasting?

-:

Is it excluded?

-:

By what kind of law of works?

-:

No, but by a law of faith.

-:

For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works

-:

of the law.

-:

Or is God the God of the Jews only?

-:

Is he not the God of the Gentiles also?

-:

Yes, of Gentiles also, since indeed God, who will justify the

-:

circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith will

-:

is one, do we then nullify the law through faith?

-:

May it never be.

-:

On the contrary, we establish the law.

-:

And so here it's placed in words by Paul, through empowering of

-:

God the Holy Spirit, in words that must be read, because I can

-:

never state it better than that.

-:

And so again, as I've said many times in this podcast, my hope

-:

is that when I read something out of scripture or we talk about

-:

something and I quote specific passages in Scripture, my first

-:

hope is that you open God's Word and you read it for yourself.

-:

And like the Bereans, we find in act, you compare what I'm saying

-:

with what Scripture says to verify it.

-:

Because I'm not the authority.

-:

God's the authority.

-:

And he gave us a gift in his holy Word so that we would have what we have.

-:

There's a couple things that come up in here too before I read

-:

the amplified version going back to my dear friend who is motivation

-:

for me to record this episode.

-:

The word justified.

-:

There's a really nice way to think of the word justified, and

-:

it's if we slow it down and we split it apart, just if I had never sinned.

-:

So the justification of what Jesus paid on the cross for us makes

-:

it as though we're justified or just as if we had never sinned.

-:

That's a profound thing when you think it's not just past tense.

-:

It's current, present, and it's all future.

-:

It's every sin that we've ever committed.

-:

I'm aware of the sins that I've committed and I can't imagine

-:

there being a proper payment for those sins.

-:

But there is.

-:

There's just one.

-:

But there is

-:

the circumcised, the uncircumcised.

-:

That was something specific of that time and makes a lot of sense

-:

when you realize he's speaking to Jews as well as Gentiles and

-:

making a comparison between the two.

-:

Obviously we're talking a lot about works, faith, and he's creating distinctions there.

-:

But I really like how in verse 29 he says, is he not the God of

-:

the Gentiles also?

-:

And he follows it up with yes, of Gentiles also.

-:

I like to start the Bible at the beginning.

-:

It's just how my brain works and I did it a number of times in

-:

my life and I would oftentimes not make it through the rest of

-:

Genesis or I'D quit in Leviticus or Deuteronomy or Numbers, or

-:

maybe make it to Joshua rarely.

-:

So many times I did that before I finally read through God's Word

-:

all the time.

-:

And I was.

-:

I had a healthy fear of the Lord.

-:

Not a healthy respect to the Lord because I hadn't accept his

-:

Son, Jesus Christ as Savior yet, but a healthy fear of the Lord.

-:

Because if you've read the Old Testament, you know what I'm talking about.

-:

He sounds like, if I make one wrong move, I am done.

-:

Like, the wrath of the Lord is severe, and this law I must follow

-:

to an absolute T.

-:

And that fear of the Lord has based a lot of religions.

-:

And if you never get to the New Testament and you never realize

-:

what His Son did for us, you can really be stuck in that bad news,

-:

that continual bad news.

-:

And so a lot of times I've heard in the past people say, well,

-:

I'm not chosen.

-:

I'm not an Israelite.

-:

I'm not a Jewish person.

-:

I'm not chosen.

-:

And that is completely true, untrue.

-:

If we go, well, let me pause for a minute as I stumble in error there.

-:

The truth in that is that you're not an Israelite, you're not a Jew.

-:

But the untruth, the lie in that is that you're not chosen.

-:

You are chosen.

-:

If we go all the way back to Adam and Eve, God's creation, we're

-:

all descendants of them, and we can specifically narrow that heritage

-:

through Noah because of the Flood, but we're all descendants of

-:

the same DNA, of the same people we have through the division

-:

of land and those sorts of things.

-:

Tower of Babel, all those sorts of things.

-:

Many nuances of where people scatter and go in different, different places.

-:

And sometimes we define our heritage there, but eventually you

-:

follow that path back far enough, and it goes to Adam and Eve.

-:

And who created Adam and Eve? God.

-:

He breathed dust into man. He breathed.

-:

He took from the dust of the ground and he breathed life into

-:

man, and he made woman from man.

-:

We all come from that.

-:

I'm not talking the nonsense of an extra set of ribs or any of that.

-:

A lot of people think that we as Christians believe that stuff.

-:

Does it say he took from his rib to make woman?

-:

It does, but that was Adam's rib.

-:

Or some translations just say side, not rib.

-:

And I'm not trying to get off on a tangent here, but I suppose

-:

that I am getting off on a tangent, although I'm not trying.

-:

But that didn't mean that his Sons Cain and Abel and Seth had

-:

one less rib.

-:

It's like, if I lost a finger, that doesn't mean my son is going

-:

to have one less finger when he's born.

-:

So anyways, there's no, there's no logic in that criticism of

-:

Christians and what we believe.

-:

But we all come from God's original people, and we all come from his creation.

-:

We're a part of his creation.

-:

We are chosen.

-:

And he is beyond saddened that we spend any amount of time apart from Him.

-:

And so he sent his Son, Jesus Christ to pay that price so that

-:

we would be able to have a path, a just path back to Him.

-:

He didn't come and say, you guys have messed up since I created you.

-:

I'm just going to call it clean, we'll call it good.

-:

No, the price had to be paid.

-:

And the price was paid.

-:

And through that price, we are able to gain proximity to the Creator

-:

of all things.

-:

It is a lie to think that that is only Israel, that that is only

-:

a specific people.

-:

I can talk in the future about Israel's role in all of this as

-:

his chosen people to conduct the stories of the Old Testament.

-:

But his chosen people is.

-:

Is for the story of the Bible.

-:

And his chosen people failed over and over and went away from him.

-:

And through that.

-:

Look further in Romans when it talks about grafting into the tree

-:

through their disobedience, we as Gentiles of all different nations

-:

were shown the Gospel through Jesus Christ.

-:

And then he chose Paul to share that message to all the whole New Testament. Perhaps.

-:

Perhaps the whole New Testament is about that being available

-:

to all, not a specific, specific few.

-:

Even if the word chosen is mentioned in the Old Testament, it's, it's.

-:

I'll take you back to when Jesus was baptized.

-:

What happened after his baptism?

-:

He was tested for 40 days in the wilderness.

-:

And Satan tested him and Satan used scripture against him.

-:

Now, Satan never stood a chance against Jesus Christ, but Satan

-:

will use scripture against us, too.

-:

So sometimes we can be reading things and hear a trigger word

-:

like us for chosen, and all of a sudden a lie creeps in that says,

-:

well, you're not a Jew, you're not a descendant of Israel, so

-:

this book doesn't really matter because you're not chosen anyways.

-:

I've heard that before.

-:

I've heard that recently.

-:

And I'd like to perhaps honor Phil Robinson, who recently passed

-:

away in something that he used to say.

-:

He summed it up real simple with people who didn't believe.

-:

He said, okay, let's take on one hand let's look at an atheist,

-:

and another hand, let's look at a Christian on the atheist side.

-:

What's the best case scenario?

-:

End of life, right?

-:

You die, you're put in a coffin, your corpse rots in the earth.

-:

That's your best case scenario.

-:

Your worst case scenario is that God is who he said he was and

-:

is and you spend eternity in hell.

-:

Let's look at the Christian side of things.

-:

What's the worst thing that can happen?

-:

You're wrong about who God said he was and who God is, which I

-:

don't believe is a possibility.

-:

But for sake of argument, for sake of discussion, let's go with that.

-:

What's the worst case scenario?

-:

You're put in a coffin, you rot in the ground for all of eternity.

-:

What's the best case scenario?

-:

God is who he is, which he is, and you spend eternity with him

-:

because you've dedicated your life to his son, Jesus Christ.

-:

So if I'm reading the Bible and I read, oh, I'm not chosen, so

-:

I need to just not do this or deal with this, what's the best possible scenario?

-:

If I reject God's word, best case scenario, you rot in the earth.

-:

Worst case scenario, you damn yourself to eternity in hell.

-:

So it might just be, and I say this with extreme sarcasm, it might

-:

just be worthwhile to accept God's word for what it is, not let

-:

those devilish attacks come in.

-:

Read all the way through, get to the New Testament, get to the

-:

good news and realize the depth of what Jesus paid.

-:

Can you accomplish all that in one reading?

-:

Yeah, I believe you can.

-:

And I think you can accomplish it in even one book like John or

-:

Luke or Mark or Matthew.

-:

If you're like me and you gotta start at the beginning of the

-:

Bible, it's a testament to your strength, your discipline and

-:

your capacity to continue going through some stuff that is very difficult.

-:

And I pray that you make it to the New Testament so that you can

-:

see the good news.

-:

And when you complete the entire Bible and you begin to understand

-:

the Bible three dimensionally and read in depth, this is as much

-:

as width, you'll understand the wisdom when somebody says you

-:

should probably start in the New Testament or you should probably

-:

start in John specifically.

-:

There is extreme wisdom in that from people that have been down that path.

-:

But all of us have to take our own path.

-:

Read in Proverbs 16, 9 that a man takes a path and the in the

-:

God outlines the steps.

-:

Essentially I'm totally butchering that but please look up Proverbs

-:

16:9 in your translation that you're reading to get exactly what

-:

it says there.

-:

So we're going to take a path.

-:

God is going to provide the steps.

-:

We need to be willing to surrender and let him provide the steps.

-:

And if that looks a little weird, like you hop around from book

-:

to book, that's fine.

-:

It's funny how we will take advice in other arenas of our life,

-:

but when it comes to stuff like this, we're listening more to

-:

the lies on nope, you got to do it this specific way.

-:

And oh, there's that word chosen, so you might as well just stop

-:

and all that.

-:

We have to continually, vigorously defend against that.

-:

I have not read out of the Amplified yet and I apologize.

-:

Let me read that then we'll sort of wrap up this first segment.

-:

And then in the second segment, the members only segment, I want

-:

to get a little bit more raw and vulnerable with you and explain

-:

kind of my path and a little bit about my testimony.

-:

So again, this is the Amplified version and a lot of Bibles will

-:

have this section titled Justification by faith, verse 21:31 Romans 3.

-:

But now the righteousness of God has been clearly revealed independently

-:

and completely apart from the law, though it is actually confirmed

-:

by the law and the words and writings of the prophets.

-:

This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ

-:

for all those Jew or Gentile who believe and trust in him and

-:

acknowledge him as God's Son.

-:

There is no distinction, since all have sinned and continually

-:

fall short of the glory of God, and are being justified, declared

-:

free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted

-:

eternal life as a gift by his precious undeserved grace through

-:

the redemption, the payment for our sin, which is provided in

-:

Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly before the eyes of the

-:

world as a life giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation,

-:

propitiation by his blood to be received through faith.

-:

This was to demonstrate his righteousness which demands punishment

-:

for sin, because in his forbearance, his deliberate restraint,

-:

he passed over the sins previously committed before Jesus crucifixion.

-:

It was to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time so

-:

that he would be just and the one who justifies those who have

-:

faith in Jesus and rely confidently on him as Savior.

-:

Then what becomes of our boasting?

-:

Is it excluded entirely? Ruled out? Banished?

-:

On what principle?

-:

On the principle of good works, no, but on the principle of faith.

-:

For we maintain that an individual is justified by faith distinctly

-:

apart from works of the law.

-:

The observance of which has nothing to do with the justification

-:

that is being declared free of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God.

-:

Or is God the God of the Jews only?

-:

Is he not also the God of the Gentiles who were not given the law?

-:

Yes, the Gentiles also, since indeed it is one and the same God

-:

who will justify the circumcised by faith, which began with Abraham

-:

and the Uncircumcised through their newly acquired faith.

-:

Do we then nullify the law by this faith, making the law of no

-:

effect, overthrowing it? Certainly not.

-:

On the contrary, we confirm and establish and uphold the law,

-:

since it convicts us all of sin, Pointing to the need for salvation

-:

I think you can likely see why I enjoy the Amplified Bible.

-:

I've said before that I use the New American Standard Bible is

-:

sort of my daily driver.

-:

And then I utilize the Amplified Bible to almost as a commentary.

-:

It's not a true commentary, but to to help me more with the things

-:

that I'm struggling with and not understanding.

-:

As we conclude with this first segment, I want to kind of provide

-:

an application or takeaway on what the Lord has placed on my heart.

-:

And it is the good news that Jesus Christ brings to us.

-:

I'm asking us, and this perhaps will make more sense as I dive

-:

into the segment here to follow, but I'm asking us not to dwell

-:

on negativity and not be a conductor for negativity.

-:

It truly has impacts that we can't fully wrap our minds around.

-:

And truly, if we think about it, if we're if we're saved, how

-:

could there be any bad news?

-:

Truly, nothing is bad news when we have received the salvation

-:

from the King of Kings, Christ Jesus.

-:

I'll leave you with a quote, and it leads into a story that I'm

-:

also going to share here in the second segment.

-:

I actually considered making this episode two different podcasts,

-:

and you can see why.

-:

But I'll leave it as this and just split it up into 2 and A and

-:

a B if you'd like.

-:

But I'm going to leave you with a quote by Jeff Foxworthy.

-:

This was from a conference called Be Bold for Jesus, and it was

-:

in Spokane, Washington, I think four years ago, maybe five years ago.

-:

And I'll expand upon where this comes from in the story that he

-:

shares, which is a beautiful story, and I'll explain that story

-:

along with some other things next.

-:

Here's this quote, one of my early questions.

-:

I said to them, I said, what is the Bible?

-:

And one of the guys said it's just a book of rules.

-:

And I'm thinking, no, it's the greatest love story that's ever been written.

-:

And I couldn't agree more.

-:

And again, this is from his Be Bold for Jesus conference.

-:

I shouldn't say his, he was the keynote speaker that year.

-:

But if you search Jeff Foxworthy, Be Bold for Jesus, you're gonna

-:

find clips of this and then the whole, I think hour to hour and

-:

a half long deal of which he spoke.

-:

And I highly recommend that you watch that because the story is

-:

incredible and I want to provide that for you so the story is

-:

not lost in just the membership section that you can find that for yourself.

-:

And then a question for you today before we wrap up.

-:

How do you view God's word?

-:

Do you view it as just a book of rules?

-:

Do you view it specifically just for those who are chosen?

-:

And you believe the lie that you aren't chosen, that you don't

-:

matter, that you believe there is no point to life, that there

-:

you're not sure why you exist, but you're not a part of the benefits

-:

of heaven, you're not a part of God's kingdom.

-:

That's a lie.

-:

It's a complete lie.

-:

But hopefully if you answer how you view God's Word in any capacity

-:

similar to that, you are able to then get past it and realize

-:

truly what God's word is.

-:

It's living, breathing and it is his inerrant word to us, a gift

-:

to us so that we can know who he is as father, who he is a son,

-:

and who he is as Holy Spirit.

-:

Not going to get into the call in action.

-:

-:

to come Lord Jesus.
